This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

Egyptian manuscript fragments. 19th-century artwork. These fragments are the remains of a papyrus scroll collected in 1811 from a mummy found in a tomb near Thebes, Egypt, by British antiquarian and traveller William Edward Rouse Boughton (1788-1856). The scroll had been badly damaged by sea-water on the return journey, but Rouse Boughton presented the fragments to the Society of Antiquaries of London. Published in Volume 18 (1817) of 'Archaeologia', the journal of the Society of Antiquaries of London.
